The chowder was good, though spiced with a lot of pepper, salad was excellent and others at our table wished they had ordered it. Everybody liked their fish orders. No complaints except for one glaring one-- the waiter for another table walked by ours while rearranging a plate of salad with her hands! It was disgusting, as you know they touch everything in the restaurant. Just gross. Management needs to have a talk with employees about hygiene standards. It's really not a reflection of the restaurant management or employees in general, but this should never happen.

Just a quick ride to Rio Vista, The Point restaurant is located right on the water at the back of the marina. Look out the windows at the Sacramento river and the Rio Vista bridge. Or sit at an outdoor table on the deck. Nice view either way. The food is good and reasonable, and the service is quick and attentive. I had the special Spicy Bloody Maria, and it had a nice spice level. Not too much, just right. I also ordered a turkey club. Of course, I had to have onion rings with my sandwich. The club was very good and hit the spot. I try to go once a month to meet with my in-laws who live in Stockton. This is halfway for both of us, and a great place for drinks and food.

It's been a while since I traveled more than 40 miles to try a restaurant. I had high hopes for one claiming to be a great seafood place. After looking at pictures, I wanted to try the swordfish, curved fries, and the raspberry lemon cheesecake. Upon arrival, they had accessible parking right in front of the entrance. That's one star. The hostesses were attentive, inviting, and friendly. The restaurant was clean, and the Sacramento River background was also nice to look at. Two spots, the bar and a smaller room, had stairs to enter, so we couldn't sit there as I'm currently mobility challenged. However, there is another room that allows entrance for my walker. That's the second star. Jimmy was our waiter. Nice, knew the menu, attentive, and efficient with our orders and checking on us. Another hostess offered assistance with our plates and refilling our water glasses. Whether I was thirsty or not, the water was delicious. This is the third star. I liked my blackberry, ginger, and pineapple mocktail. I could taste every ingredient, and it was a nice first experience. For $11, maybe a bigger cup... The raspberry and lemon cheesecake was okay. I think the slice could have been bigger for $10. Dessert probably isn't their specialty, but the drink and dessert are the fourth star. On the other hand, I was disappointed by the frozen shrimp plate. I expect a seafood restaurant to have fresh shrimp; the kind that you must devein. The green beans were cooked too long, but I ate them... They would have been better with a little crunch. For $23, I don't think I'm wrong for expecting a little better/more. Though another party guest decided to change her order for the fish and chips, I chose not to send the plate back and just make the most of it. Two guests enjoyed the clam chowder. I didn't take pictures of their plates. The fried zucchini was good. The chicken wings were a little hard, though. We actually left one on the plate. Major bonus! I appreciated the fact that the environment was free from the smell of marijuana! That was such a relief! The restroom was clean, too. The music selections they played were nice as well. Overall, The Point was a nice experience. If we return, I'll try something else.

The new york steak sandwich at the Point is huge. They put a whole steak on top of the bread. I asked to add blue cheese on mine and it definitely changes the taste profile for the better for me. Their fries were delicious with the ranch. I enjoyed my food with a bottled Negra Modelo. We came in on a Sunday afternoon and must have missed the lunch rush because it wasn't crazy busy. We've been to this spot a few times. We like that it's on the water. It's perfect ambiance when you sit outside. This time it was too hot for outdoor seating, so we stayed inside. And it was very cool too. We had a group of 6 and kids and everyone enjoyed their food. Our server was very attentive. The price was right for the food that we got. So we'll be back again.
